ASPETAR: the Official Medical Partner of the Qatar Exxon Mobile and Qatar TotalEnergies Open

Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital will continue providing exclusive sports medicine services to top tennis players at the yearly tournament hosted at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Qatar.

As part of the collaboration, Aspetar, through its National Sports Medicine Programme (NSMP), is offering a range of comprehensive medical services to all participating athletes, including physical therapy and sports massages, in addition to ambulances and fully equipped clinics at the venue.

Committed to the well-being of athletes, Aspetar provides its world-class expertise and services by offering a legion of medical services to the tennis tournaments. Its support of the tournament began in 2011 with an agreement with Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), and Aspetar has been medical partner of QTF since 2008.

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open, which will be held on 19-24th February, is one of two ATP Tour events held in the Middle East and has been selected by players as the ATP 250 Tournament of the Year on many occasions. The event will be followed by the Qatar Total Energies Open, which will run from 20-26th February and will feature an incredible field with most of the top 10 players.

Aspetar and Qatar are home to some of the world’s finest sport stadia and venues offering a stimulating combination of sport, sports medicine and research, and sport education. Aspetar has provided medical support to the world sport community through scientific research concerning tennis, published by Aspetar experts on different topics including: musculoskeletal examination of elite junior tennis players, low back pain in tennis players, heat stress and tennis performance, and many more studies on tennis performance and injuries.

Aspetar has vast experience in managing major sporting events by providing medical support to 100 sports events per year and were most recently part of the World Athletics Championships IAAF 2019 and the AFC Champions League 2020.
